Built to sit beneath a painting the clients had carried through three homes.

Our brief here was almost entirely about restraint. The clients owned a large, vividly colored painting they'd never had a proper place to hang, and asked us to design furniture that would support it rather than compete with it.

The result is a four-drawer console in book-matched walnut, with slim brass pulls and a single reveal line where the case meets the legs — enough detail to reward a closer look, without pulling focus from the wall above it.

“The painting had been in storage for two years. Now it's the first thing guests ask about.” — Client, Denver
